Call for Participants to a Symposium

China’s Development Path in the New Era from Multiple Perspectives

DATE AND TIME 14 January 2020 13:30-16:30

VENUE Nihon Room, Pembroke College, University of Cambridge, Cambridge CB2 1RF

In the past seven decades, China has made remarkable achievements, improved people’s living standards and blazed an unprecedented path of economic and social development. These achievements did not happen by following the Western world’s favoured developmental mechanisms, but rather through China’s unique development path, which has made it the largest and fastest-growing developing country. As President Xi Jinping said, socialism with Chinese characteristics has widened the path of modernization for developing countries. In this event we will gain an understanding of the dynamics, opportunities and challenges that are happening in China.
